This fine Kentucky rye whiskey is the first to carry the Van Winkle name in over 60 years. Twelve years of aging in charred oak through the variable Kentucky seasons have given this rye whiskey a strikingly brown/deep bronze color and a slightly distinctive spicy finish. Straight Rye Whiskey uses the same distilling methods as bourbon. However, it differs in its main ingredients. While straight bourbon uses corn, rye whiskey contains at least 51% rye resulting in a less sweet whiskey.
