In 2006 Mother Nature provided us with an Indian Summer, long and warm without much rain. This provided the perfect conditions for our sugar and acidity to be in sync. As the acidity in our fruit slowly declined the sugar content slowly rose - the ideal conditions every winemaker can only wish for. The vines were extra stressed and this paid off with longer hang-time, more concentrated fruit and beautiful tannins.

We picked grapes from select vineyard of the Lodi delta region, where rich clay soils, cooling breezes and bright sunshine produces Merlot grapes with ripe cherry flavors and soft, silky tannins. For a bigger and bolder taste, we aged the majority in small oak barrels for over a year.
