A Posto was born of an old Italian idea: that wine should be drunk every day, with practically every meal, and that it must therefore not only taste great, but also be affordable. Wine's first duties are to be delicious, and to function well at the table.
The nose is packed with black fruit, especially blackberries and plums, with slight spicy overtones hinting at black pepper and cinnamon. Sweet, soft tannins come together in a closely-woven texture that combines with great fruit character and crisp freshness, culminating in a long, tasty finish. A perfect match for starters, cured meats and a variety of fresh and mature cheeses.
This Barbera from McManis Family Vineyards is medium ruby in color. Bright, focused, Red Raspberry is the predominant fruit. However, black fruit and Cherry are also found. There is also faint clove contributed from oak aging. The wine is medium bodied, with soft medium tannins. The acidity of the wine amplifies the fruit flavors, and a nice hint of Mocha lingers long after the wine has been swallowed.
