Grown from Beastly Old Vines from stately, yet sometimes forgotten vineyards throughout California. This wine elicits fervent, fecund and frenzied tongue enveloping pleasures. A wine of substance, its a Cardinal Zin not to drink at the altar of this decadent, spicy zinfandel. This is a refined pleasure, with intense flavors of blackberry mingling with soft creamy touches of oak, vanilla and dry herbs. Its full on the palate, but not heavy and the fruit is constant from the first sip to the end of the finish.

A very unusual grape variety for Australia, this new grape variety has produced quite aunique wine. The nose is unmistakably Zinfandel. Spicy aromas along with red fruits andpomegranate predominate, complexed further with slight raisiny notes from the riperzinfandel grapes. The color is a vibrant red/purple showing nice depth. The wine is mediumbodied and structured with bright acidity, finishing with evident but soft tannins. Great withpasta, red meat and cheese.

Select lots of old and new vine Zinfandel were blended to develop a complex, fruit-forward wine before being aged in primarily stainless steel tanks. A small portion of the wine was aged in seasoned American and Hungarian oak barrels to impart a light oak characteristic while allowing the wine to stay true to its varietal character. Ruby red in your glass, the California Zinfandel exhibits exhilarating spicy aromas and flavors of tart cherries, raspberry and currant. The wine is juicy and complex with many layers to discover.
