Shiraz is a wine known for its spicy, full bodied character. Our Shiraz has deep aromas of dark cherries and spicy oak complemented by rich flavors of blackcurrant with hints of licorice and vanilla oak. The finish is long and warm.
The Shiraz is a dense magenta color, with notes of chocolate and berries on the palate.
Our Shiraz is a very, focused classy and beautifully structured wine. True to itsvariety, the wine is deep, black and brooding in color. The nose shows bright fresh aromasof blackberry, licorice and spice. We have purposely kept the new oak component at aminimum to allow the vibrant fruit characters of the vintage to elevate. We especially lovethe palate of this wine, particularly the warmth, length and velvety silkiness it delivers.
We experimented with different blends until the perfect one was created - a juicy, fruit-forward Shiraz with a bit of floral spice, courtesy of a splash of Viognier.Aromas of raspberry jam, leather and pepper, mingle with a bit of floral spice on the nose. Spicy floral notes carry through the fruit-packed, medium-bodied palate, finishing with a touch of honey.
This Shiraz features New World-style ripe and jammy fruit aromas. Flavors of black cherry and white pepper are pronounced on the palate with hints of boysenberry and raspberry. The lingering finish is pleasingly supple. Ray Einberger, Winemaker
An excellent example of the modern style Shiraz that exhibits generous body and flavor. The bouquet gives plenty of plum and dark berry fruit characters with a hint of oak and varietal spice. The rich, soft palate is complexed by soft tannins and a fine oak character. The complex varietal character and soft oak tannin, distinguishes this wine and ensures it is extremely approachable in its youth.
Watch out this wine jumps out of your glass! Ripe blackberries and blueberries with spicy black pepper on the nose. Pair with Barbecued baby back ribs with macaroni salad or Jerk chicken with brown rice and black beans. An excellent wine to enjoy with or without food!
This Shiraz is a medium bodied wine with generous aromas of pepper, licorice and plum, leaving a soft textured finish on the palate. At our place this wine is enjoyed with great gusto alongside beef, lamb, chicken and amongst friends.
This premium, full bodied wine is an outstanding example of South Australian Shiraz, displaying an intensity of ripe plum with pepper spice, balanced by soft grape and oak tannins, leading to a lingering smooth finish. An ideal accompaniment to most red meats, game and cheeses. A wine that will develop further with cellaring.
Double Barrel Shiraz has a full and generous palate with a beguiling mix of sweet red fruits and dark chocolate indicative of its origins as Barossa Shiraz; Subtle toasty vanillin derives from aging in traditional French and American oak wine barrels.
A combination of plum and blackberry aromas with spice, pepper and cinnamon. Well-rounded and fruity with rich flavors of ripe plum, blackberry jam and spices balanced with vanilla and caramel flavors.
When rare opportunities arise, we need to capture, nurture and develop them so that their potential is fulfilled. So when Torbreck was given the opportunity to work with one of the most famous vineyards in the Barossa Valley, it became almost inevitable that the resulting wine would be truly remarkable. Planted in 1958, the five acre vineyard is traditionally dry grown and comes from an original Barossa clonal source. South facing, on the eastern side of a ridge separating the Seppeltsfield and Marananga appellations, these aged vines have been meticulously hand tended, traditionally farmed and pruned by a grower with a lifetimes experience on Western Barossa soils of very dark, heavy clay loam over red friable clay. The resulting low yields of small, concentrated Shiraz berries make the vineyard the envy of all winemakers in the Barossa. We looked longingly at the wine when it was returned to the Seppelts, knowing that it was the best we had ever made. In 2005 we convinced the Seppelts to sell Torbreck the fruit and The Laird was born. In 2013 Torbreck purchased the Gnadenfrei vineyard, securing The Lairds reputation as one of the worlds great single vineyard Shiraz wines.
